Team Volvo Sailors to Support End of Season Championship this weekend!

I am very pleased to announce that we will be joined by Team Volvo sailors John Pink and Niki Birrell

Team Volvo 49er sailor John Pink will join us on the water on Saturday and then run a tips and question and answer session in the wet bar before Saturday's evening meal

Double Paralympic medallist Niki Birrell will join us on Sunday and present the prizes at prize giving. He will be bringing his two medals for us to have a look! 
 
So the format is 3 fleet races on Saturday, John Pink tips and Q&A, evening meal, party, then a massive RS pursuit race on Sunday, with Niki Birrell doing the prize giving. What an awesome weekend!
 
 
Your End of Season Championship is the perfect way to close your 2016 RS racing campaign with all your RS sailor friends.  Rutland Sailing Club are hosting us to a smashing weekend 5- 6 Nov in the style of an RS Tiger Trophy.  So 3 fleet races on Saturday followed by a party.  Then one big RS pursuit race on Sunday. 
 
Top end race management, a fabulous expanse of open water, great catering team and a warm Rutland welcome make this racing weekend an essential!
 
The Racing

Two days of racing: Sat:urday 3 fleet races, racing back to back, two courses (trapezoid for RS Aeros and RS300s, windward/leeward for RS200s, RS400s, RS500s and RS800s), Sunday one big all fleet pursuit race

Registration: Sat 0930-1130hrs in the wet bar upstairs, RS800s to weigh in on plank and scales

Sat race briefing: 1130hrs in the wet bar upstairs

Sat first race first warning signal 1230hrs, 3 races back to back
 
Sun race briefing: 0930hrs in the wet bar upstairs

Sun pursuit race start: 1030hrs and pursuit race finish 1230hrs

Entry fee:    single hander (RS Aero and RS300) £33
                  double hander (RS200, RS400, RS500, RS800) £40

You can enter online by selecting the entry form in the menu to the left of this text.  Please note that online entry will close at 0001hrs on Wed 2 Nov16 by which time you must have paid your entry fee. Entry and payment after this time will need to be made at registration on Sat 5 Nov and will be subject to a late entry fee of £5.

You must comply with the Check, Clean, Dry procedures in order to prevent the spread of non-native species. Click here for the RSC requirements. In order to alleviate the need to fill in an extra paper form at registration RSC has agreed that by entering online you have agreed to their club requirements with regards to biosecurity (you are confirming that your boat has been ‘Checked, Cleaned and Dried’ for a minimum of two days prior to arriving at RSC), medical declaration, agreement to comply with the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing, RYA Prescriptions and Sailing Instructions, including measurement compliance, licensing laws, RSC rules, liability and photography permission.  Please contact me if you have any questions. 

Please note that in accordance with RS Class Association Rules in order to be eligible to race at this event you need to have one member of the RS Class Association in your RS boat.  One event membership costs £10 and can be added to your online entry.  If you upgrade to full membership within this calendar year your one event membership £10 will be taken off the £39 full membership fee. You will need to print off the one event membership form found in the menu to your left and bring it completed and signed to the event registration.  You can take out full membership by going to the title in the menu to the left of this text.

If an under 18 year old is going to be racing in the boat then an under 18 consent form must be completed and handed in at registration.  You can print the form off from here or fill the form in at registration.
 
The Shoreside Stuff

After a good day's racing dine with your RS friends before strutting your stuff on the dance floor  or settling down for a quiet natter in the bar. 

The event Saturday evening meal will be served at 1800hrs in the upstairs galley.
 
Main course: homemade lasagne, chips and side salad £7.50 OR homemade chicken and leek pie, chips, veg and gravy £8.50
Pudding: homemade apple pie with ice cream, custard or cream £3.50 OR chocolate fudge cake with ice cream, custard or cream £3.50
 
It would be really helpful for Jackie the caterer if you could add your food tickets to your online entry so she can plan numbers.  However you will be able to buy meal tickets at registration.  Please note that the food order will close at the end of registration, that is 1100hrs on Sat 5 Nov.  Please let me know if you have any specific dietary requirements.

Jackie's catering team in the galley upstairs will be ready to offer you bacon butties, sandwiches, cakes, hot and cold drinks throughout the weekend from your arrival early Sat morning until your departure Sun afternoon.

The bar upstairs will be open Sat early evening until late and for the prize giving Sun afternoon.
 
No dogs on site at RSC.
 
Gate code is 1105.
 
No camping in campervans on site.

Refund policy:
If you cancel your entry before the early entry deadline we will refund all fees, minus a £15 admin fee. If you cancel after the early entry deadline, but before online entry closes our standard policy is to return 50% of fees. Where an event entry limit has been reached a refund will only be issued if another boat from the waiting list takes your place. If you cancel after entry closes we will not usually issue a refund.
