Ladies Open - Burghfield Sat 7th June
This is a message for all you girly 200 helms out there or girly crews with designs on the back of the boat... Do you fancy a chilled out open meeting racing, with the opportunity to ask questions of top sailors and wind down with a glass of prosecco? In which case get Saturday 7 June in your diary now!
The Burghfield SC ladies RS200 open (affectionately known as Ladies Day) is an open event run by the Burghfield 200 fleet especially to encourage female helms... crews can be boys or girls we’re not fussy! We’re running lots of short races and will have experienced 200 sailors on hand to help on and off the water ending with a Q&A session and a glass of bubbles. We'll also do either a barbecue or afternoon tea afterwards depending on weather.
Last year we had a great turnout ranging from girly helms from national circuit to local club sailors at their first open. Local rock-star photographer Sportography.tv made a video which should give you some idea of what to expect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hyts-iwIEn4. Sportography.tv will be around again this year.
We'd love to see you and would be grateful if you can pre-enter to give us an idea of numbers (and to save yourself £2): http://www.burghfieldsailing.org/index.php?module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_page&PAGE_id=62&MMN_position=77:74
If you're short a helm or crew do get in touch and we'll see if we can match you up.
Looking forward to seeing you,
Ellie Sharps and the Burghfield 200 fleet
