Alex Smallwood and Callum Farden win the RS200 Inlands

46 RS200 teams contested the socially distanced Rooster RS200 Inlands at Grafham on Saturday.

The forecast promised a challenging day for PRO Nigel Denchfiled and his team of mark layers as the wind promised to shift through a full 180 degrees during the course of the 4 race event. Despite the challenging forecast it was an enthusiastic fleet that filed into the dinghy park and took on the lonely task of socailly distanced rigging in the rain.

Out on the water the forecast at least delivered on its promise, swinging from a moderate North Easterly to a full Southerly during the course of the event.

Perhaps it was enthusiasm, or race rust, but the port biased line proved a challenge and the first race got away under black flag after 3 general recalls. There was more kerfuffle when the 3rd race was binned during the final lap due to the promised monumetal wind shift that saw kites being flown on the windward leg and upwind planing at the leeward gate!

A full race report is on its way. In the meantime the awards and full results are below.

Thank you to Grafham Water Sailing Club for hosting the event, our only championship of the season. Thanks to the race team who did a valiant job in very difficult conditions and to all the RS200 sailors who turned up full of enthusiasm and their usual skill and talent on the water and great manners and common sense ashore. We are proud of our RS200 fleet.
