Dutch Nationals were great! As always! Seven good races, 15 boats at the startingline and the socials were great too!
It was the second time that we had an official Dutch championship. It was part of the "Dutch RS Games" with the Tera's and the feva's. On Saturday there were 4 races. Afterwards a great BBQ and smooth music from DJ Marcoen Verrest. The volunteers did a great job arranging the BBQ and dancing the music.
There was an early start on Sunday. With a freezing temperature three races were sailed with an upcoming norther wind. The race officer knew how to continue starting the fleet because of the low temperature. Coming on shore the ladies of the BBQ were ready to serve us burgers to warm up. Great!
The winners of the dutch RS500 Nationals were Annemiek Bekkering (famouw because of winning the 29er and 29er XX Worlds) together with Claire Blom. In 2nd Michiel Geerling and Hilde van Susante (they won as well the dutch overall year price). In 3rd position Marleen and Jody. They sailed a great series during the event. They won the "Brave dog" award for showing up at most events. It was a great weekend with lots of fun and competition on the water.
We'd like to thank Jon Patridge for competing and supporting all the fleets during the first Dutch RS Games.
